My First Career

1st Sgt Lombardi

I spent 16 years in the United States Air Force and the Oregon Air National Guard. With that, I started out as a Security Forces Defender where I guarded the largest nuclear missile complex in the US. I was selected and assigned as a Military Training Leader at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. Then at just under 9 years of active-duty service, I transitioned into the ORANG and worked full at Kingsly Field in Klamath Falls, Oregon. There I protected the Air Force’s largest F-15 training unit. Additionally, I served as the 173d Security Forces Squadron’s Unit Training Manager. While fulfilling that role, I won NCO of the Year for all of Oregon. I would later be assigned to the Basin Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team (BINET) and served as their Military Counter Drug Tactical Analyst. I served in the military counterdrug program another two years before being selected as the 173d Operations Group First Sergeant and filled that role until I separated in 2023.

My Oregon Ducks

Connected to Home

I didn't care much for college football until I moved to Oregon as a teen. That was when I was advised, "You might want to choose the Ducks or the Beavers." I randomly chose the Ducks and have been grateful for that decision ever since. During my time in the Air Force and being far away from home, tuning in to a game every week left me feeling connected. After years being away from Oregon, I finally returned home and with that, I do my best to attend at least one football game a year. I love the ducks and hope one day we'll bring home a Championship. But even if we don't, I'm still happy to cheer on my team.

The New Passion

Don't Tell Yourself You Can't

All my life I struggled in school. Practically every subject was a challenge, even reading and writing. Many people ask me, "Wow you write books? You must be great with English, Spelling, Grammar." The fact is, I'm not good at it at all. I'm terrible actually. And that was what I told myself for years. Then, one day, I realized... there are things called editors, and you hire them to make your shit not so bad. Since that day, I haven't stopped writing. I love creating worlds and hope you can realize that you can do this also.
